There was a time when comics and cartoons were considered just for kids but the target age demographic these days is 12- 30 or something like that. I too am a fan of the mediums so throw me to the kiddie table as well.

My whole family reads comic books and still watches cartoons. My grandma is 62 and she steals my comic books ALL THE TIME! So no...comic books are NOT just for kids. A lot of comic books aren't even for kids because of the mature content. There is a rating system for comic books and even some cartoons because people of every age still watch and read these so called things that are "just for kids"

No, I don't believe they are just for kids.

I'm still in the industry surrounded by people who love doing comics, of all varieties and genres. The topics and stories are many times geared for a more mature audience than children. Perhaps not in content, but in subject matter.

I think that being Young at Heart is a very good thing and comics and cartoons spark the imagination!

No, but they do have that stigma, however undeserved it is.

Consider the works of Neil Gaiman, Dave McKean, Alan Moore - would you give Sandman to your kids? V For Vendetta? Violent Cases? Of for that matter, Punisher? Ghost Rider? The Ballad of Halo Jones?

I have a three year old daughter, a five year old son and a seven year old son. And I would not let them read any of my comics (well, maybe some of the more tamer ones) nor watch Southpark, Ren & Stimpy, Urutsokodoji, etc.

Some comics and some cartoons are for kids, but certainly not the bulk of the market.

Oh no I like reading the comic strips every day and for those of you that have the Yahoo widget engine you can download the comics widget and have them right on your desktop. Get Fuzzy is my favorite because its about the funniest comic going right now. Check out Bucky Cats Nutbonker 2000 that is designed to make chipmunks considerably less chipper.

uBatman: The lively series became the superb sketch ever. great voice solid, animation became earlier than it's time, replaced the way cartoons are made. It became the main truthful to the source fabric, and yet saved it sparkling. X-adult men became additionally great as became The Tick sketch of the 90s. The 90s Spidey sketch became rubbish. The Justice Leage became exceptionally good too, yet i'm partial to Bruce W. Timm's artwork. As for you human beings and Smallville, it is fantastic, yet does not stick to the Superman mythology in any respect. it is unhappy, it is like they intentionally make video clips and television shows now to **** off us comedian e book nerds. teen Titans became the worst sketch ever in keeping with DC comics, and that i mean worse than the previous Superfriends and Filmation's Batman/Superman of the 60s and 70s.

Of course not! Some comics and cartoons are specifically for adults. (Family Guy, Futurama, Drawn Together, The Boondocks) I have always loved comics and cartoons. :) I want to stay forever young.

The only cartoon I watch is the Simpsons because it's geared towards an older audience who are, like us, kids at heart.
But I do watch some of the animated movies with my 8-year old nephew and actually enjoy them.

A lot of "big kids" still do cartoons. My neighbors know a guy who makes an EXCELLENT living designing comic book covers.
