Does anyone else besides me see how the health privacy act backfired against us? Before this law, if you had a doctor's excuse, the employer was basically forced to accept this as an excuse for absense. Now you can be sick as a dog and either go to work or get fired, whether you have had to go to the doctor or not. There is no longer an excuse to be sick. Just go to work and spread it around. Then maybe everyone will get fired.

I have never seen this as a problem. If you give your doctor your permission to disclose your medical information to your employer than it is not illegal. You can have your medical excuse for work. Do you understand the HIPPA act? www.hippa.com look it up.
