I live on a military post so I buy at the comissary, but I swear by Pampers. I tried Huggies and they leaked many times and Luvs never fit my son right. Pampers are awesome and to get them in bulk for cheap go to Sams or 1800Diapers.com.

I have 3 sons under 5 yrs old, we've tried every brand. If you have a heavy wetter (two of mine) or they sleep long stretches between changes, don't go for store brands, you don't get a snug fit and are asking for leaks. I tried Luvs on every son, and they leaked every time, I tried going up a size, didn't help. Boys pee more towards the top/front of the diaper and there just wasn't enough absorbent material there, and they had wet bellies.
Huggies ride higher and are a good fit for a boy, especially the Convertables for a big peeing toddler because of the elastic all the way around, but these are being phased out I believe.
My sister swears by Pampers baby dry because they are more absorbant between the legs and a little more flexable/softer then Huggies. If you are a member of Costco, the kirkland diapers are identical in construction as huggies supreme, as they are made by the same manufacturer, they are half the price though at 29.00 for a box containing 4 big bags and if you don't like them, Costco is great about taking them back, even if you've used a few!. They carry sizes 3, 4 and 5 only though. What I like even better now is the LittleTykes brand found at Big Lots stores. They cost 8.00 for the same size bag that Huggies and Pampers sell for 12.99 on sale. They are not just cheap, they also have all the different neat features of both Huggies and Pampers rolled into one diaper! elastic at the waist like Huggies, trim between the legs like Pampers. They have stretchy tabs and are a little lower rise so they don't hang out the top of baby's pant (they do stop leaks out the top of baby's pants though!)
Another tip, if you have a problem with your diapers, i.e "pampers tabs keep pulling off" or "These Huggies have ink smears all over them", call the company. They will send you out a shiny coupon for a free bag plus a couple of nice big 3.00 off coupons for future bags.

I had a boy and for me I LOVED Pamper's Swaddlers when he was little but I switched to Huggies Supremes when he grew out of swaddlers b/c they seemed to be more absorbant and just better fitting than pamper's cruisers. The best advice I can give is for you to cruise the net and collect some samples of each and then try what you like.
As far as where to buy, I find Sam's doesn't have consistent selection. So I don't rely on them, although usually if they do have what I want, the price is good. Usually I get my major supply at the grocery store on double coupon day! And have all my relatives and close friends send me there coupons!!

I was all about the pampers for the last 2 years because my son was allergic to generics. we used huggies as well. I prefer pampers but LUVS has been pretty good recently (especially now that we just had our 2nd baby(2 wks)...(our toddler is 27mo)) i used to buy my diapers at Sam's club but now i found a site called www.1800diapers.com...let me tell you how awesome that is! bulk diapers at cheap prices delivered to your door FREE (over $45 $3.99 if under) they have boxes of diapers WAY cheaper than any store (pampers, huggies, LUVS, and some all natural ones...wipes by the case as well) WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR!!!??? (they also take manufactures coupons)

I have been through them all...and I do mean all. I was the person trying to save the 3 cents per diaper. When I finished being a miser I discovered Luvs. Not to sound like a commercial, but they really are the best for the price.
Hey if there is someone from luvs out there I'll do a commercial for a life time supply of diapers!

i've found the best diapers are parent's choice. these are sold at walmart the larger pack is like 11 dollars. i know that size 3 comes with 80 diapers. then they also have the smaller packs of like 40 diapers for 6.00. the number of diapers will vary upon the size you are buying with smaller sizes having more diapers and larger less.
i found huggies to be the worst. i also had problems with luvs...pampers are fine but too expensive.
and when my daughter started using training pants i used white clouds. as they work just like easy ups and pull ups but are a lot cheaper, this is also a brand sold by walmart.

LUVS!!!! I live by Luvs they don't leak and they are cheep. I buy at wal-mart they are like $7 for 30 size 5 diapers. Keep in mind the bigger the diaper the less you get in a pack so there would be like twice as many in newborn!!!

Pampers are awesome, they rarely leak, no defects. Huggies sometimes have problems with the pull tabs they come off. I think Pampers are the best overall. I buy them at whatever store has them on sale. And I go to the websites and sign up for the coupons you can also join parenting clubs etc at the dr's office and get coupons for all kinds of things, formula, medication, etc....

For a newborn, Pampers Swaddlers. From Size 2 on up, Pampers Baby Dry. I buy coupons on Ebay for a free jumbo pack & use it to get the $20 box of Pampers Baby Dry. I pay $5 for the coupon, save $15!

I bought a case of 200 Huggies (size 3) at Sam's Club for $34.95!
I wish they carried the Huggies Supremes, because they are the best, but regular Huggies are very good.
