Psychology Topic/ Story about someone mentally disturbed?

Hey, I have to write a 4-5 page paper for my psychology class and I'm looking for an interesting topic. Anyone have any ideas? It can be on anything psychological, but I was mainly wondering if anyone knew of anyone that i could write about thats documented that was abused or something happened where they sufered mentally and/or physically

I once met a very functional schitzophrenic who refused to take meds. She did quite well, as long as she stayed away from alcohol (unfortunately, she was an alcoholic). Once she got drunk, her defenses against the voices and thoughts in her head would be gone and she would get really erratic and paranoid.

She was a strong woman, though. I really admired her. I wish I was still in touch.

Dr Glasser (the originator of choice therapy) is a psychaitrist and never put even a schitzophrenic on meds. I would write a paper about people with mental illness who never got "professional" help.

Have you ever read the book "A boy named IT"??? That has to do with a child being abused by his mother in the most horrific ways... I did a story about that in my psychology class and i got a good grade.

Viktor Frankl is an awesome person to write about. He is the father of logotherapy and survived a concentration camp during WWII where he lost most of his family.

One of the main tenets of his therapy is that the only thing we can choose is our attitude. He chose to live during WWII and that made all the difference.

Book is Mans search for meaning. Its awesome....

I was in a car accident in which my best friend was killed. It was a drunk/speeding driver, and I'd be more willing to share the psychological aspects of that experience.
