They have three dogs in their house that the landlord doesn' t know about and we have been told by the landlord to let them know if anything fishy is going on. These dogs have not been approved by the landlord and if the landlord knew about them, the tenants would be kicked out.

No, don't get involved with it unless the dogs are bothering you. It's harsh to be kicked out and they'll take it out on you. The landlord can do his own snooping and should not expect on tenant to spy on another for him.

If the dogs aren't bothering you let it go. You will cause more problems for your self by telling the landlord. The landlord will do nothing in return for you if you tell him. If you tell the landlord the tenants will be allowed to stay if they pay the fees, however, they will always have problems with you. On the other hand, if the dogs cause problems then maybe leave an anoyomous letter for the landlord.

That's a sticky situation. On the one hand you want to tell your landlord because they are knowingly breaking the rules. On the other hand if the neighbors found out you were the one to inform the landlord they might try to make your life a living hell, playing loud music till all hours, snaking your parking spot, trying to find something you might be doing that the landlord wouldn't approve of.....If you feel a burning desire to tell the landlord you may want to consider doing it anonymously and if the neighbors ever say anything about it act very surprised and appalled. Good luck!

Are the dogs bothering anyone? If not, maybe just slip an anonymous note under the landlord's door suggesting that someone may have too many pets. That keeps you out of it. Even if someone says they will not divulge their source, they often do under pressure. I have discovered over the years that people get VERY touchy over their pets.

If the dogs are bothering people, just give a general complaint about noise, poop, etc. without mentioning the number of dogs. Again, you have a right to complain about those things, but you will not be "ratting" so to speak. A complaint may prompt a visit to the suite where the landlord will no doubt figure it out himself.

Best not to get too directly involved when it comes to people's pets.

I can understand your feelings about telling your landlord about the dogs. I would also feel compelled to do so. But do you really want to get them kicked out? Have their dogs caused any problems? As difficult as it may be, you should probably just stay out of it. Let them (neighbors and landlord) work out their problems on their own. Then you won't have anything hanging over your head.

I think you should go talk to your landlord your self and reassure the landlord that none of this is true. Let then come check out your place and if you are ok with it then tell them that if they want they can pop in unecpectedly to make sure. and kick the neighbors a**

If these people or their dogs are bothering you, then do it just so you don't have to live by them anymore. If you have nothing against these people or their dogs and they are not hurting anyone, then just let it go. The landlord will eventually find out and you could just tell him you didn't know this was going on. You don't want to cause trouble.

Wondering why the landlord would have you act as a "snitch" for this particular tenant. That is the landlord's job and somehow he has enlisted you to do his "dirty work". Besides, it will eventually get back to that tenant that it was you that exposed him. How would you feel, after the tenant was evicted, walking past him or her looking that person in the eye? How would you feel if that happened to you?

Is it worth it? Do the dogs bother you? Because telling the landlord will really ruin their lives for a while. So you have to decide for yourself. To me, it is in no way inconveniencing you from what you say. Don't lie. If the landlord asks you directly, tell him, but otherwise, well, mind your own business, I guess.

I think you should tell your landlord about your problem. It would be the best thing if you want the matter resolved faster. If not just wait and its only a matter of time before you neighbor gets caught. hope I was helpful.. GOOD LUCK!! ♥
