Planting time is printed on the back of the packet which you can buy at any garden shop just look for your region on the package.Leave lots of room for them to grow 20 to 30 feet and when they flower and each flower only opens once early in the morning take a Qtip and roll it around each and ever flower that is open to transfer the pollen from one to the other to increase your chances of getting a punkin. Go back and forth to make sure you get them all. The reason for this is you cant allways count on bees to do this for you. Also there are male and female flowers on the same plant but to hard to discibe so just hit them and good luck. Bye the way in st. louis the planting time is June 12

You can buy pumpkin seeds at Home Depot, Kmart, Walmart, Meijer, or even a hardware store. The best time of year will be printed on the back of the package..it will depend on the area in which you live.

It's best not to plant pumpkin seeds, as the plants grow far too large (fast, too), and will completely take over any other nearby plants.

Like others when we carve pumkins we save the seeds. I squeese the pumkin guts in my hand and the seeds push out. I put them on a cookie sheet and spread them out to dry. Store in a ziplock bag , but dont zip it shut or seeds will mold. Now I also buy pumkins seeds on ebay for those giant pumkins . Suppose to grow to 500 pounds. I havent tryed them yet but will next april or may. Good luck
