i own a repair shop and it sounds lie it might have a small pin hole in the heater core, sometimes they wont show up under a pressure check that good,if you run the heater or the defroster and you smell it try using the defroster on it ,,it might leave a mist on the wind shield if it does the heater core may be your problem, other than that check and make sure the radiator cap is on good and tight and not loosing pressure on it,also look in the coolant tank and make sure it is not over filled, good luck i hope this help,s.

if the antifreeze smell is real bad inside the car, and worse when you turn the fan on, i would say it likely a heater core leak. a small leak often wont show up as a visible drip, as it takes awhile to accumulate enough inside the heater case to run out. but, you will definitely get the smell. if the anti freeze smell is worse outside the car, around the engine, and not so much inside, then look harder for a leak at the engine. it's there; just gotta find it.

I want you to try this little trick. While driving, put the heater on, and in defrost position. See if there is a mist on lower inside of windshield. Wipe your finger on the mist and taste (be ready to spit out). If bitter, it's A/F seepage. Check and make sure you have the correct anti-freeze in your vehicle. You need the pink stuff in it and does not have a smell.

I hate to say it, head gasket maybe ? or leaking cap ? Check around the heads for colored leaks, usually green or yellow.
