There are 9 bolts in the cylinder head-and they have to be tightened to a specific torque, I can't find what the torque is from even the manufacturer, I guess if they don't get any money from you they don't want to help.
Thank you, Rich-Hogan-New York

Im rusty on that, but i believe it's 35 ft/lbs. Another way to tell is by the marking on the face of the bolt. One line was so many ft/lbs, two lines more, and 3 lines even more. These are case hardened, and that's their identification marks. I'm back...here is a website that deals with bolts and has an 800 number, maybe you could call for the torque specs on yours.http://www.portlandbolt.com ....i tried to find an ANSI spec chart on torque for you, couldn't find one sorry.

Its been so long since I actually followed the manufacturers torque setting on the side valve flat head engines..... I do beleive its Around 35 myself....

I always get em snug, then a whole turn more to a turn and a quarter..... in a x pattern. Never ever had a head gasket blow on one after having done this..
