maybe both of you should start looking for jobs. Oh yeah, and dont spend all your money when you do get jobs again, they say you should have an emergency fund of 6 months worth of expenses for situations just like that.

He should apply at one of the competitors for the same job. Have him apply for unemployment benefits as soon as possible. The job market in your area may be tight but may be better in a neighboring community. Make sure he posts his resume on-line right away. Many states have placement services. Don't let his ego get in the way of applying for every possible job. You need the money.
