Depends how well Traschel and Maine pitch. Without Pedro and Hernandez, the Mets are going to be relying on Traschel and Maine. I think Maine is good enough to win big games, Traschel, however, is a question mark with a fat ERA. If those fail, the Mets have enough good hitting to take them past St. Louis into the World Series. If they could win with there, Traschel and Maine better produce.

They have not good, but great hitting.
They have an excellent defense, especially up the middle. (LaDuca, Reyes, Valantin, Beltran)
The best bullpen in the major leagues. (ERA, MLB best 74 and 4 when leading after 6 innings)
An offensive game that can adapt to the situation, with power, speed and the ability to play big or small ball.
On top of all the skills and success, this season the Mets have played with fire. They are a team that has pulled together all season, showing emotion and their love of the game. These Mets are determined and show that determination on the field.

They'll win the world series. I don't wanna get too far ahead with my opinion but honestly, we've got better players overall. They may have Albert Pujols, fine. But we have Jose Reyes, David Wright, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Paul LoDuca, Tom Glavine, Endy Chavez, Jose Valentin and Shawn Green. Go Mets!!

I think the Mets will win the Series. I want to see the Cardinals win the series, but I think the Mets have the best team in the playoffs now.

They are going to take the win. They are just so on top of their game this year (1st place since day 1) they are not going to let that go. I notice a lot of people, mentioning the pitching and Pedro being out, I just wanted to point out, that Pedro has been out most of the season, on DL 4x and all lengthy and they still didn't fall out of first all season. So as much as I adore him, we did manage to get here without him.
