Get together with Russia, China, Great Britain, and France - set up a program like the Strategic Air Command (SAC) of the cold war. During that time, the US and Great Britain had bombers armed with nuclear weapons in the air 24 hours a day 7 days a week - ready to drop on pre-selected targets immediately!

With international satellites set to monitor for missile launches - as soon as a launch and/or nuclear blast is recorded a plane from the international SAC can be dispatched to target the offending nation (Korea, Iran, even member nations if world political currents go awry).

We the greatest nations of the world have found that having Nuclear weapons are more trouble then they are worth. If the dominant nuclear powers of the world (former adversaries) can agree to work together and set up such a global shield - one that is ready to strike an offending nation within minutes or hours of a nuclear attack. This is such a program that would not only deter the threat of a hostile nation like North Korea (which today threatened to arm and launch a missile with one of their new toys), but may encourage other nations trying to develop the bomb to give up.

Whatever happens in the coming days, if the North Korean test was not a dud as recently reported - it is certain that past UN non-proliferation strategies did not and will not work. Something more pro-active on North Korea, and other nations trying to get nukes (Iran) has got to be put into action!

ok, there have in easy terms been 2 presidents of North Korea. Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il (his son, cutting-edge president). Now it truly is rumored to be one in each of Kim Jong Il's very own sons after he passes away. you will no longer have faith it yet there certainly is an election. in certainty an "election" is held by potential of the social gathering each some unusual years. There are persons working whether it truly is all ran by potential of the state and it truly is extra or much less of an phantasm of democracy. So while the time comprises "pick" a president, the social gathering cadres would desire to decide for, case in point, Kim Jong Il or yet another individual that's clearly in essence, figuring out on Kim Jong Il or risk being accomplished by potential of the state. Kim Jong Il truly isn't a "president" ... that identify is going to his father who's dubbed the "everlasting president" .

How about getting off the high horse and talking to them? It seems like capitulation, but it makes sense to find out what their problem is exactly. The policy that the Bush Administration has followed right the way through, of not talking to the trouble makers in the world, is obviously not working too well. Not talking to the N. Koreans, Iranians and all the other trouble makers is obviously setting us all up for tremendous disaster. What is that saying again? Yeah: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer....makes a lot of sense to me! Imagine where the world would be if Reagan had refused to talk to Gorbachev? Do you think the world would be free from the Cold War? I don't think so.

Hummm...dealing with nut cases is difficult and exhausting. I'd probably have to consults with well known head shinks to get their take on this 5'2' ugly midget with the Napoleonic complex. When Anna Nicole Smith recovers somewhat from her period or mourning I think she could be a great assest to her country. She should be appointed Ambassador to North Korea...that ought to refocus that despots attention for a long enough time till we could come up with a solution to the problem.

First I would tell Kim Jon Ill that if One tiny speck of radioactive material was to land on US soil or any of our allies in that region. And it was traced directly back to N Korea that the US would turn N Korea into a Nuclear Waste land. Having said that I would then turn to China and Japan and S Korea and say Deal with it. We've said all we need to on this issue and from this point forward we have nothing in this Unless N Korea makes the Mistake of violateing our first statement.

I'd knock out their nuclear reactors, that country is on the verge of self destruction. They barely have any food or electricity. Just take them out before they can sell anything they have. We are our own worst enemy and if we don't do something with these other countries they will get us. France @Russia they can go to, they could care less what happens to us.

We do nothing but pressure China and Japan to do something... if America gets overtly involved then their will be a serious war... whereas if Japan and China get involved it would be more political and economical and the most blood that would bring would be papercuts and other random office accidents... sounds better like that to me...

Pray.
Suggest an international corridor on NK territory where regulated nuclear plants could be run / supplied by an international team. We need a bold new vision for more than an UN army. Energy is the gold of our era. We need UN energy that does more than monitor nuclear.
