You are not entitled to be paid if you are off sick. The only exception is if you took the time as holiday time if you had holidays coming to you.Check in your employee manual. Does the company pay for sick time? Probably not. It would be too expensive for the employer to pay everyones' sick time.

You should be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay if you earn over £84 per week. If you work 5 days a week and you were off for a whole week you would receive 2 days SSP at £14.01 per day. This is a legal thing that all employers have to pay. If you don't earn over £84 per week then you wouldn't receive anything.
However if you got hurt at work and can prove it, then go to Citizens Advice to find out what to do next as you should be paid.
Good luck

Legally your company does not have to pay you if you do not have any personal/vacation/or sick time to use(If the doctor says that you were NOT hurt at work). If you were hurt at work and you have a doctors statement along with an incident report at work (when your neck got hurt) you by law have to be paid by workmans compensation even if you have no benefits for pay.

If the doctor signed you off for a week you are entitled to sick pay from your employer. They have no legal right stop your pay, even if your a new worker. Speak to someone in human resources or even your supervisor/boss. Get that pay and dont take any c.r.a.p. from them
