If you are the boss, responsible for a crew, I would recommend that you have a meeting with your subordinates and tell them what you expect. Employees want, no need, direction and must know and understand the expectations of their supervisor, and the results of noncompliance (discipline up to and including discharge).

As a supervisor, you are responsible for the efficiency and productivity of the employees under your control, as well as the well-being of the patients in the nursing home. While you strive to provide the best meals, subordinates undercut your efforts. This must change and rather quickly.

If you are not the supervisor, and the supervisor has let the situation grow out of hand, then either go with the flow, or begin to look for another job. The frustration of fighting an up-hill battle isn't worth your time, and aggravation.
