1990 blazer 4x4 when putting in 4 low it grinds why?

I believe its b/c the transfer case is not syncronized. Therefore when you switch it leave it in neutral for 30 seconds or so to let everytihing stop spinning then engage 4 low.

you have to be at a complete stop and the trans in neutral to engage 4lo.

thats a non syncro tranny-- its something you will have to deal with
