I have learned this the hard way, the more you give, the more you expect. Its crazy, u wanna help but they take advantage. But anyways, just start little by little to get the work lighter. Then be open with her about YOUR feelings. You have a right to a life too

When starting out in the world of employment it isn't good to compare your situation to other coworkers. At least until you get your first promotion. Instead of telling yourself that your boss expects to much, ask yourself what is expected in this position. It is more important to impress the boss, than your friends or yourself.
Wait until you get home and let the house gather dust while you snack and watch TV. You really don't need to comb your hair or take a bath. Should your Dad cut the whole yard? Should your Mom make that much food for supper or do the dishes right now?
Does your boss expect, too, much or do you have a low Self Respect?

In most cases, a boss will expect the most from the ones they feel they can depend on the most. Maybe you are just that good of an employee. Speaking from management experience, i know I had certain ones I knew would do it right the first time but I always let them know that and I always said Thank You. Maybe you should have an adult conversation with your boss and explain to him/her and tell them you would be happy to do all you can but you do need to be able to set a pace for yourself to make sure you do the quality job they expect from you. Then you would be happy to take on more when you are more confident in you work load.

If you are being given too much work the phrase that you MUST say straight away is:
"WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE ME NOT TO DO, TO BE ABLE TO GET THIS DONE?"
It then makes them think about the work already pushed on you, and also makes them decide if this new task is a priority or not.
Any boss you have dealings with will always need to be handled very carefully. Using this phrase is a very polite way of saying - hey, 'I've already got loads to do and I'm struggling with that. If you give me any more I will just crumble or my own well-being is in jeopardy.
It is your boss' job to have a duty of care towards the well-being of employees - AT ALL TIMES.

Good question!!
I have thought about this same question before. Every job that i have had, the boss has always expected more out of me than my coworkers. People tell me that I am too nice, and I that I do not speak up when I am requested to do certain tasks.
I will be looking for the answers that you receive on this one.

Your boss might be under alot of pressure to get her job done also. If you are a new employee - ask her to explain things again for you so that you can understand it better and do a better job. She will respect you for this - and this will be a positive statement. She should be glad you were able to let her know that you are willing to learn and want to do a better job. This statement alone should make her ease up on you a little.
However, if you have been at the job awhile and know the job details already - then she will expect you to be able to pick up the pace a little. If you can't - then maybe it is time to look for another job.

Maybe (just guessing here) your boss has higher expectations of you.
Maybe your boss has had experience(s) with other people doing the same job YOU are supposed to be doing.
Maybe you decided to slow your own rope now that you've hooked a job?

You can't tell her anything, she's your boss, you're not hers.
She is expecting as much as she can to ready you for the real world. Feel privileged that she has high expectations for you. She wants to see a motivated worker that is actually doing her job and keeping busy. A boss is supposed to be bossy.
You'll appreciate it more when you get a raise.

If you can't or are not willing to do the job (according to the way your boss feels it should be done), then you need to resign and find something more suitable for you. Your boss is the boss and you are the worker. If you can't perform the duties, you're aparently in the wrong job.
Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts...that's adult life/reality!

Ask if can talk to her privetly ( so she knows how serious you are ) , & just be honest about struggling a lil' bit. 7 outta 10 bosses ( I think ) prefer attitude over aptitude! Let her know how HARD your TRYING! & ask her 4 suggestions on how to go about your work. If you are having THAT much trouble , perhaps she can let you know a few shortcuts !
Good Luck & hang in there!
