So depend on the working Americans to feed you?

Get a job. Tell your Mom to get a job.

If she's incapable of working, well then ok. But no need for YOU to suck up my tax dollars.

I don't know about other states, but where I live a person doesn't necessarily become ineligible based on age alone. In TN a person with little or no income can still be eligible to receive food stamps even if they still live at home as long as they buy and prepare their food seperately from the other members of the family. If a person is of age and not physically, mentally,or emotionally handicapped then they are required to participate in a work ready program that is designed to help them gain employment if they are not employed. If a person is employed, then the amount they earn is what determines the amount of food stamps they receive. There is an income limit of course, but if a person has no real assets and falls within the income range then they can still receive benefits. You may want to check the income restrictions in your state and the eligibility requirements. Don't be afraid to speak to a supervisor if you are not being treated fairly or according to the regulations of your state.

GO get up and get a job -- and stop sucking the life blood and income off your mother.

NO you are not entitled to food stamps -- you need to get a job -- because when you turned 18 years old, you are no longer a minor and NOT entitled to any Food Stamp Benefit at this time.

I'm concerned about why you cannot work (I see you are writing this in the special ed section), are you considered disabled? If so, check with your caseworker to see if they know if you can qualify.

Public assistance, including food stamps are designed for those who cannot work or who just need a boost until they can get back on their feet. It is not meant to be an entitlement.

Even a part time job should help with expenses towards food.

All you can do is apply for them and let them determine whether or not you're eligible. They combine all the household's income, so You probably won't though, considering you don't have any children and you're just trying to get a free ride. Get a job, you're only 20 years old. One day, you won't be ABLE to work and you'll regret this decision you're making for yourself right now.

Unless you have children to support, I think it is pretty darn hard to get food stamps. You could try, but I believe they will like at your household income--which means your mom's pay too, if she's working.

just me, ramen noodles are horribly bad for you, even if its cheap. Those things are packed with more sodium than 8 square meals...maybe even more. Anyway, you have to be making a low income. It's easier to get it if you have dependents.

Go get a job. If you need a skill, then go to a trade school.
Where is your pride ? It burns me to a crisp to read about someone like you.
