They are an educated people, I like the women they are beautiful and love their accent specially the women from Cordova, yes they have the reputation of being arrogant ( mostly the men ) there are a lot of Argentines living in Mexico and they get along very well with Mexicans I think it´s the most interesting country in south America ( not counting Brazil which is for partying )

I think on the whole they are decent enough people. I have never been but have met a few people from the Argentine. My father used to visit Buenos Aires and he rated it as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Sure, they are reputed to be arrogant by the rest of Latin America, but that is a gross generalisation. You take individuals as they come.

I do feel sorry for the Argentine people though when I consider their recent history. First the Junta, then economic collapse. But I hear that things are starting to improve and I hope they are.

When I visited Argentina it was a revelation. There is so much of it! We seldom hear about the fantastic wild life, which exceeded my wildest expectations. Buenos Aires was one of the most vibrant cities I have ever been in. I can't wait to get back there! But you ask about the people. All the Argentinian people I have met are of European descent. They come from just about everywhere in Europe and are suprisingly aware of their roots. I was touched, for example, when visiting Patagonia, to find young people with perhaps only one Welsh grandparent, earnestly studying Welsh. I met a very lively Hungarian Argentinian who had brought all six of her children up to speak Hungarian fluently. I met so many people of Italian descent that I gained the impression that they outnumbered those of Spanish extraction. They, too, were proud of their roots. It was also impressive to note the existence of so many bilingual schools. A nation of linguists! But when the foreigner thinks of Argentine people, he will inevitably think in physical terms: of the national sport, football, and the national dance, the tango, which is utterly mesmerising to watch and so difficult to imitate. A strong, vigorous, athletic people, therefore.

My one complaint about the Argentine people is their driving. Returning there from neighbouring Uruguay, where motorists actually stop for pedestrians, I felt as though I was taking my life in my hands every time I crossed a street!

For a country with such a turbulent history the Argentine people are tremendously optimistic. They have a lot to be proud of. Buenos Aires is a magnificent capital city. The countryside is amazing and often very remote and untouched. Coming from mostly European stock the average Argentinian is proud of his country and in my experience is more than happy to show it to visitors. Argentinians eat and drink extremely well. Their home produced meat and wines are among the best in the world. As for football, it is almost a religion, second only to Catholicism. The best way to find out the answer to this question is to go there yourself!

In general I think they are normal folks.

These ideas come to mind:
catholic
music and dance
mining and agriculture
inquisitive
loyal to family
friendly
strong
caring
moderatly well educated
low to medium income
fun loving
- these are some of the things I specifically associate with Argentinian people in general, although many individuals will not follow my image of what is typical.

I think they have a pretty good soccer team that managed to kill the Mexican team and with it our hopes of advancing in the World Cup. I also know that for some reason there's supposed to be some racial antipathy between them and Mexicans(me). But I didn't get the memo, I guess.

I only know one and she is great. Not only good-looking, but kind, generous, hard-working, well-liked, intelligent, resourcful, talented and luckily for me she is my friend.
I shall certainly avoid judging her or the Argentinian people based on petty comments arising from football games, Maradonna, and of course the war.
