I make my own ringtones, but they kinda suck. I mean, they sound okay, but a bit fuzzy; too much bass. Converting an MP3 to a ringtone file (.mmf) takes a little time.

1. You need to convert the MP3 to a WAV file.
2. Download Audacity to clip/edit the file: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
3. Go to this page: http://smaf-yamaha.com/tools/downloads.html
Download the Wave to SMAF Converter (WSC-MA2-SMAF).
4. Take the clip you made with Audacity and use the converter.
5. Now you just have to put the file on your phone.

Also, make sure the file isn't too big, otherwise, it won't work. I use 10-15 seconds of each song so it will fit.

There are pay programs out there that will do it for you, but this is the only free way I know of.
