I started wearing glasses when I was about 12. I turned 15 last month and have noticed recently that my cheekbones are a lot wider than they used to be. I have naturally prominant cheekbones but I never thought they used to be so big width ways. My guy friend switched to contacts a while ago, and he said that a while after he stopped wearing his glasses his face shape changed loads (i.e the width of his cheekbones shrunk). I'm just wondering if anyone knows if this is true, I now hate not wearing my glasses as I think my face looks really big without them (as I also have smallish eyes) and I think I look a bit unatractive like that. So does anyone know if glasses do actually change your face shape?

NO, glasses do not change the shape of our face. The fact that your still growing is whats making your shape change. I have been wearing glasses for about 15 yrs now and my face has not changed do wearing them.

Please do not think negative about yourself just because you wear glasses. Smart and BEAUTIFUL women wear glasses.

You're still growing! You probably have had a growth spurt from 12 to 15 years old. Glasses cannot change your bone structure. That's hereditary. They can cause you to have dark marks on your nasal bridge so make sure they fit and compliment your facial shape. I'm sure you look just fine without your glasses and remember, you still have a lot of growing up to do!

No. It's ridiculous and physically impossible for glasses to change one's facial structure.
Granted, it could change the way the face looks (i.e. proportions), but not actually alter the bones.
Keep on wearing glasses if you like them, don't let a rumor stop you.

It's true-- my dad has worn glasses for about 20 or 30 years now, and the place where his glasses sit have created a dip on both sides of his head.
