I have to dress up me and my horse for a halloween party. he is a black and white paint. my brother does too, and he has a 11.3 hand black pony, and my sister does too, and she has a bay. (if this helps at all...) well anyway, I need some good ideas for what we could dress up as!! i've been trying to think of some movie characters that go together that me and my horse could be, but anything you come up with would be good!!! thanks

You could be a Ring Wraith from Lord of the Rings, and dress your horse up like the one from the movie. Or you could dress up like a matador, and put horns on your horse to make it like a bull. I like the matador/bull thing, also the Ring Wraith might be a little hard (ok... maybe more than a little, the horse would need some fancy armor).

I dressed my pony as an indian once. It was really awesome, I would suggest that one. :) What you can do is this: Go to Wal Mart or anywhere that sells fabrics, and try to find a suede-like fabric. Cut the short edges into tassle-like frays and that will be your saddle pad(no saddle or girth in this one!) unless you would just like to drape that over the saddle. Anyhow, I got cheap, run of the mill finger paint and painted a circle around her eye, made hand prints on he rump, and plenty of other designs. It washes right off easily and it's not dangerous to them. Horsey halloween costumes are not easy to think up, but the Indian idea would by my suggestion. :) The fingerpaint handprints etc. look awesome on the final product. :) My friend went as a hippie one year, spraying the main and tail pastel colors and decorating her with peace signs etc, and painting her hooves light green with twinkle toes. :P Have fun!

Cover them in flour or white paint and they could be the Lipizzaner Stallions, Paint them in rainbow colors and they could be the horse in the Wizard of Oz or I think a great idea is for you all to dress up like indians and paint your horses like they would have (ring around their eye, hand print on rump, lightening bolts, etc). You could probably use Tempra paint on our horses, it's non toxic. If you do not want to use paint maybe you could all dress up like jockeys and they could be race horses.

Do you remeber the comic strip Marmaduke, he was a really big red dog, you could paint your horse red, and put a sign on him calling him Marmaduke
