Yes, you could still be pregnant. Sometimes the home tests arent the best. My friend missed 2 periods before a test actually told her she was pregnant. If you dont get your period in another week or so, take another test. If it comes back negative again, call the doctor and they can do a blood test, which is more accurate. Another thing could also be that your hormones are changing. A couple months ago, I thought I was pregnant cuz I really late with my period, but come to find out that my hormones were just changing. I was sad, but now I think i might be pregnant again. I hope so! Good luck you!

If you are 6 wks late, I'm hoping that you would have seen a doctor. The pee sticks can come back negative, when you really are pregnant, but a blood test is the most accurate.
I had this same problem earlier this year, and it turned out to be a hormone imbalance caused by my pill.
There are some really great pregnancy websites for information, and often they have links to real nurses who can answer questions for you.

Possibly. A negative test has more chance of being wrong then a possitive one. If I was you I'd go and see your doctor as the tests they can offer you are more likely to give you an accurate reading, and its free, lol. Good luck!

Yes, it's possible. Most HPTs are pretty accurate, especially that far along, but a false negative is not unheard of.
Make an appointment with your Ob Gyn. A late period can also be many other things.

ok, question: when did you do the pregnancy test? early in the moring or during the day? Did you drink alot before you done the test?
if you drank alot before then the result of the test could be wrong cause if the urine is to diluted then the pregnany hormone (HCG) wont be detected to its full amount to see if you are pregnant or not?

high % no! BUT, SEE YOUR DOCTOR you could have other things going on that are causing your period to be so late. SMALL CHANCE you are one of the women who need a blood test to detect pregnancy either way you need a doctor to figure this all out.

A nurse told me there are often false negatives but almost never a false positive..you could be pregnant. You also could just be late even if you are normally like clockwork changes in routine, stress level and even your job could trigger late.
