Well, for one thing, there's no 'weather' on the Moon - it has no atmosphere. However, since it has no atmosphere, all the stuff that usually gets burned up in the Earth's atmosphere just hits the surface of the Moon (like meteors). That's why the surface of the Moon has so many creaters, and the Earth's surface doesn't have as many. So in that sense, the surface of the Moon IS weathered - space weathered.

The Earth is geologically active, it has an atmosphere, and is covered with oceans. The Earth's gravity keeps these things in motion.

The moon has no atmosphere, oceans, and it's basically geologically dead.

I wish there was a way to work out whether someone is asking a question as a sort of test of other people's knowledge or whether they really don't know.

The question contains the word "weathered" which would lead me to believe the questioner knows the answer.
