Well my mom is going to get me a car for my birthday, and I was thinking about getting a Cobalt SS supercharged. What do you think?

I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS black paint with silver shimmer on it. Black tinted windows, and Black and Chrome 18" wheels. It is so BEAUTIFUL!!! lol. I totally recommend it if you are an experienced driver since it's not an automatic.

For your first car, you should get a Honda or a Toyota since they are so reliable. Chevy cars need a lot of care need a lot of care to stay in tip top shape, which is why the warranty is a must have.

They are cute little chick cars. Buy what you like though. These cars are nice and no matter what the rice drivers say the Eco Tech. engine that is in this car can produce the most power out of them all. Just look on the net for the 700+ horse power Eco Tech engine in a caviler. Of course most people just want a nice car to drive and are not looking to spend 40,000 to 60,000 dollars to make a monster. So if you like the Cobalt get it. I am sure any car you get will have a warranty.

DEFENITLEY Automobile Magazine chose it as one of thier four best sporty inexpensive sedans. Others were the Honda Civic SI, Subaru Impreza WRX, and Volkswagen GTI. A Saturn Aura is good if you want a bigger sedan. DONT get a Toyota or Ford. Fords have always had the worst reliability, and Toyota dosent offer the stuff the competetion has. Quality has also gone down while demand has gone up. American cars are better than ever (and often outscore the foreign vehicles in comparisons)

If you don't need a 4 door sedan , the Cobalt is a really cool car and at least not everybody has one.

I don't know if that's a good first car, since it's probably going to be expensive to insure. You wouldn't need the SS to have a decent car.

Absolutely NOT! I "had" an 06 Cobalt and it was the biggest piece of junk! In addition to the many mechanical problems I encountered, that car had the worlds worst paint job. I got rid of it. Chevy should be ashamed. Steer clear of this car!

Nooooooooooooo ! That would be the biggest mistake you will ever make ! Get an Acura RSX or a Honda Civic sti insted and you will not regret it ! Plus they look a lot cooler than the Cobalt!
