Hearing aids are placed in your ear, after you had a hearing test, and it was decided that you cannot hear well. So they make a custom hearing aid for your needs. So it is place inside your ear, still visible from outside, and another part of it goes behind your ear, to make it stay in ear. I believe there are adjusting buttons or dials on the hearing aid, so you with your doctor should choose the best option for your hearing. mermaid199
