Sounds like you're trying to find info on a ghost or a tragic event.

Check to see if your community or county has a Historical Society. Other sources of information may be:

Village or City Hall
County Recorder's office
Local library
Title company where the title was held

If it's a small town, check with the church, the post office, senior center, fire and police departments.

If you know who owned the house before, and can find them, someone in the family may have done some geneology that involved the house.

Sounds fascinating... good luck!

You can ask a local realtor, neighbors, or go to the Clerk of your county deed registrar and look for past owners. It may be tricky getting phone numbers or addresses for them. But it's a matter of public record.

i know what you mean. i'd think the only way to find out things like that would be old records at your local library, possibly a google or yahoo search on your address, things like that. you could also talk to your neighbors if you have any that you feel comfortable talking with. hope that maybe helps you out a little bit
