Doesnt anyone wonder why the death and resurrection of christ is celebrated with a frekin bunny rabbit that lays choclate eggs during the night.
And we wonder why are we phuked as a race.

I would say a goldfish with a linclon log on his back jumping from his bowl to a sock drawer has more of a miracoules conetation to it.

Jimmy would say in the morning: look ma the gold fish left me a linclon log in me sock drawer, thats the story of jesus.

good day to all.

holy cow!! i actually know the answer to this question!

easter is usually celebrated during the spring equinox which is a huge deal in "pagan" religions. the catholic church picked this time to celebrate the resurrection of christ to try to "cover up" the pagan rituals and practices.

one of the major goddeses that was worshiped during this time wast "ester" (or some variation of the name) and was said to have come forth into the world in an egg (and ester egg). i'm pretty sure she had something to do with sacrificing rabbits, but don't quote me on that!!

if you think about it easter is not the only "christian" holiday that corresponds to equinoxes or solstices.....all saints day, (didn't catch on) in the fall and christmas on december 25th.....(do you really think jesus was born on dec. 25th??)

anyway, hope that helped!

Yes. I have pondered the easter bunny thing many times. What matters is how you celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Doesn't mean you have to do the whole easter thing if you don't agree with it. But yes, the easter bunny thing is so stupid!

It's a wonderful story. I really like the part when Jesus rolled the rock back and stepped out and, seeing his shadow on the ground, knew there was six more weeks of winter.

You are exactly right! Unfortunately, America usually adopts (for a lack of a better word) other countries holiday traditions.
