Tiger. The largest tiger, the Siberian tiger, kills and eats brown
bears, which get up to over 1500lbs. That's the same upper weight range of a grizzly. Brown bears aren't grizzlies, but the size and weight would not be a problem for the tiger.

The problem would be the grizzly itself. But consider: A Siberian tiger can weigh over 700 lbs, and that's 700 pounds of cat. That cat can jump 18 feet straight up into the air, making the battle largely a matter of who can get to whom.

Here is what would happen. The tiger would close in on the bear, not the other way around. A grizzly would want nothing to do with a tiger under any circumstances. As big as he is, the grizzly would be the prey. When the tiger got too close, the bear would stand on it's hind legs defensively and the tiger would back off.

A grizzly can move fast on all fours, so he would charge when the opportunity presented itself. Only he would not be able to catch the tiger, as the tiger would outmaneuver him.

The bear would stop, attempt to move away, and the tiger would close in again. Again the bear would be up on his hind legs defensively when the tiger was close, and again the tiger would back off.

This would go on until the tiger went in to do damage. It would be when the bear was heading off in the other direction, had tired,
or was otherwise vulnerable. It would happen at some point, and the cat would seriously wound and weaken the bear. In the end, the tiger would sink his fangs into the back of the bear's neck.

If the grizzly was the only game in town, the tiger would stalk, kill, and eat him--just as he would a brown bear. It would just take longer to accomplish.

It depends. If the bear wandered into the tigers territory, then the tiger would be obligated to defend it's territory. The bear would win or the tiger would retreat.

If the tiger was defending it's young, the tiger would definitely put up a good fight and the chances of the bearing running are higher. Female tigers are family animals and they will seriously hurt anything that tries to hurt their family.

Should they just get dropped into a pen, the tiger would find a way to retreat. They are not stupid animals.

And Pooh is a Pooh Bear, not a grizzly bear, silly! :)

A grizzly bear MIGHT just be able to be trained to hold and fire a semi automatic rifle. A tiger is simply not built for this. Given that, I'd bet on the bear with an UZI.

But, I wouldn't stand around and watch.

TIGER! Because they're so much cooler and prettier than grizzly bears... sharper teeth, faster, and much more intimidating. Of course, I'm sure if I woke up next to a grizzly bear, I'd be freaking out just as much... lol

The grizzly bear, due to weight and size - there used to be a programme on the TV called face off and they addressed this very question. Using animal experts, scientists and engineers they built hydraulic simulations of the claws and skulls of these animals and compared bite straight as well as arm strength. The bear came out tops in all tests

The bear would kill the tiger as it is much stronger and tougher. A bear can survive a shotgun wound to the heart for almost 5 minutes before it dies (this actually happened) - that is really tough!

grizzly bear, no contest. Have you seen the size of that motherf***er ? But the polar bear will kick both their asses, def. Tiger VS panda, then the tiger stands a chance. Tigers are mean motherf***ers.

I think the bear. They're mean bast88ds. I'd be cheering for the tiger but I'd be betting on the wrong animal.

I'm envisioning a fight between Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.

I think the tiger because they are predators and eat other mammals, so they would have the edge in experience.
