I am going for 2 weeks during the holiday season with my son and I need a hotel or appartment that is not too expensive

Try to find a university student who's going home for the holidays and looking for a subletter. McGill has the most out-of-towners, I'd start there.

There are many small hotels on Sherbrooke street (close to the metro line) and they are 1,2,3 and 4 stars.
There is one I stayed once, very clean, inexpensive and included a continental breakfast !. Its called LA RESIDENCE DU VOYAGEUR, I think I paid about $60 cdn, but I asked for a 2 week rate and told me $45. Really its well situated, close to Downtown and easy transportation. I live in that area.
