Get a volunteer job or one that pays little to keep yourself busy. You can find jobs driving elderly people to appointments, bringing meals find a job with young children or handicapped children. I'll bet you could find many volunteer jobs by searching the net!

Better yet, go back to school. Being in a room, all day, watching TV by yourself only inforces the empty feelings. It doesn't matter what you take because you are going to be in class with all the distraction that you will need. Make as many friends as you can and be on the look-out for volunteer jobs that would interest you.

Check-out what courses are available for other people in your same situation. Someone might be looking for a friend!

Get a PenPal that loves to write, you might wonder why you felt so empty in the first place!

I am also going through empty nest, 2 girls 22 and 16. I read a lot, do puzzles, I also have 4 dogs. I also try to keep involved in what my kids are doing. not hovering but trying t keep up with all their "stuff" Really dont think there is a tried and true answer to empty nest. Just have to figure out what interests you and try to get more involved.

True Love

I feel you in my heart
with every breath I take.

I smell your scent of happiness
in every morning we awake.

I touch your smooth and tender face
with every chance l get.

The feeling of your presence
makes me happy, we met.

I know everything, but nothing about you
and I love you in so many wonderful ways.

My heart knows when you’re near me
and it knows when you’re away.

It doesn’t matter what you look like
neither tall, short, skinny or fat.

Your skin is soft without color
and hair as smooth as a cat.

My love for you will never change
and you will always be on my mind.

I wish you could see what I see
from the heart of one who’s blind.

try getting a pet. if thats not your style. tons of vulenteer work out there find out what you enjoy and head on in.. or pick up a hobby you always wanted to do but never had the times as the kids were around. this is a great time to explore your inner needs and do something you've always wanted to do

Look at this as a new beginning of getting to do sommething you've always wanted to do.

good luck

go window shopping or start some arts and crafts. Redo your home, change the color theme and furniture setting. That's always fun and keep your mind off of things.

I'd adopt a big dog and take up outside activities like walking, jogging or hiking.
