Go for that really great leather style aka the Matrix which seems to mould to the skin. Those shops in Bluewater etc are shite and even if they do stock nice goods I wouln't be seen dead in them. People will pay for top quality but it has to look the part!

What sort of leather goods?
This company can brand leather wallets, bags, keyfobs etc http://www.re-southbank.co.uk
If you're just starting, start small. Make only a few hundred of each item and see if they sell.
Also, make sure your logo is distinctive and looks good on leather products!

I'd suggest competition in a fashion designing competition. I actually have one coming in March '08 in Philadelphia. It's a ways away, but you might find a similar one close to you. I have very basic details now, but check back, there's more to come. http://www.theeventdesign.com/Fashion.html
If you want to start big: I'd also research the buyers for Neiman Marcus, Macy's and even Target, to see how you can "get in".
Or start small: Exhibit in upcoming event, flea markets, sell to friends, create a website and market yourself online. Wear your fashions!
Good luck.

Start small... real small... think more legs! You could try doing something on the internet, then whne you have enough money you could open a small shop in a mall or highstreet, then when you make more money you could open a bigger store and sell more products... then more and more people will hear of you

Send your clothing to celebrity's reps. If they wear it, you've automatically made it.
