Where are you getting your information from? A good friend of mine lives in England. She was living in California for a couple of years and upon her return she even thinks America's healthcare system is the best there is. And is there any wonder why people in Canada come to the USA for their medical procedures? It's because in a socialized medical system you are prioritized and if you don't meet the criteria you're left out in the cold.
In America, you can be 60 with a bad heart valve and can actually have it replaced. And while you have to pay for it, and have insurance to do so, just try to get it done in a social care program. You can't, plain and simple. You're too old, unable to provide to society. They let you die.
It's time you take off those rose-tinted glasses and see the real world.

The cost of health care in the US is the highest in the world, a lot of the medical expenses are funnelled into insurance and administration costs. Also a part of the medical insurance payments are used in turn to substitute the low income and illegal immigrants. If you're really sick or hurt, basically every hospital would treat you even without insurance. If you have no money, you're just not able to pay. So hospitals are charging much higher medical bills to cover what they have lost to treating the poor or illegals, and your medical insurance payment is actually covering your own and someone else's. The exact same kind of drugs produced in the USA cost less coming out of Canada than we buy them here. The government only wants to protect the big pharmaceutical companies, and the rich and wealthy.

Well, what your visa application failed to tell you is that you can get care in Canada and in Europe after you wait 8-12 weeks when you have a problem...USA has the best system in the world... and our taxes would go up to at least 35-50% of our income if we want the government to pay for "free health care".
Yet America still pays for people who cannot pay. It is called Medicaid, and anyone in need can receive free care.
Not the best system, but the best in the world so far.

Honey, you are so uninformed. How could that happen?
People with money from Canada and Europe all come here for health care.
Their Socialist System of Health Care is a complete failure, even after they steal the prescription drug formulas from us.
Please don't feel bad.... Many people have been fooled about this, by lying politicians.
Check out the Truth.

Canada's health system IS starting to fall apart! The system is abused - everyone runs to the doctor for everything (e.g. an eyelash in eye).. the population is aging quickly.. etc!
I'm a Canadian and am almost 60. I will bet that the Canadian Universal Health system (which each province handles their own way), will die before I do. What a shame.. it was good, but people have abused it terribly!

The main reason we are behind is because of our lawsuit happy population. Tort reform (blocked by the lawyers in Congress) would cut malpractice suits and make healthcare affordable enough for everyone, no matter who's paying. Europe has done a great job with this. Canada has a long line.

As A Canadian, I know we pay alot more taxes. That contributes to the Health Care system. I still pay to have Health care. I pay for myself, 130.00 every 3 months for Alberta Health Care. For Dental and other things I also have Blue Cross, that is 60 a month.

I'm not saying we have a good healthcare system - we don't - but Canada's is NOT as peachy as it would appear. Would YOU like to wait 4 years for a knee replacement? Or die waiting for a test? Their system is so bogged down it's dangerous. Not that ours is much better...

well off people believe in private health care because you get more attention, the waits are less, and doctors like it cause they bill by the second lmao
