Yep...all you gotta do is watch a race and see when Jr gets the lead...us Dale Jr fans go absolutely wild with pleasure! I know because I'm a Dale Jr fan!!
We do not stuff the ballot box. He was voted the Most Popular Driver last season and the 2005 season was his worst!! In Nascar you support your driver through the good and the bad..no matter what happens.
I mean...Dale Sr has been passed away for 5 years now and his fans are still going to the races as if he was still out there beating everyone on the track!

He is by far the most popular driver probably more so than he deserves from getting the fans from his father. Just seeing the fans leave a race that he is out of will tell you that. I am not saying that he isnt a good driver but I think he got alot of fans cuz of his name

Doesn't matter either way. He would definately be a popular driver in the way that he seems to be relatable to the normal person, not a stuck up, higher-than-thou type of person.
But, if it is just votes, then they know the system for getting the most votes in. It's not too hard to do, his fans just do it better if that it the case.
But I like #1 better.

I would say he is, basically cause of his family history in the sport. I watched this past weekends race and there was alot of red in the audience. He was robbed of the win in the final turn, but when he was interviewed he just said "that is racing". I respect him for his cool attitude and although I watch other racers before him. I'm happy to see him do well.

All you really need to do is watch a race.When the 8 car goes to the front, you can hear his fans yelling.

if you have to ask that question you've oviously never been to a nextel cup race. at least 40% of the fans are wearing #8 gear.
