Now that depends on which girl? Are you going as the girl next door? Or are you going as a 50's starlet? In the latter case here are instruction on putting on starlet style makeup. It is actually an article about Cleopatra makeup, but you can modify it to suit your taste. Hope this helps.

Apply pale foundation and a loose powder (we're aiming for a matte look). Groom and darken your eyebrows, giving them a definite arch. Apply a thin line of black liquid eyeliner and wing it at the ends. No eyeshadow. Curl eyelashes, carefully apply falsies, and finish with black mascara. Red lipstick is a must (absolutely no gloss). Use lipliner beforehand if your lippy tends to feather.

A minimul amount of makeup is needed for that costume, some pink blush, pink lipstick(not gloss). maybe just a little eyeliner and mascara. not too overdone.

You want to look at 50s pictures online... fashion pictures.

You would want a pale foundation, RED lipstick and really darken and shape your eyebrows dramatically and use eyeliner drawn on with wings... (or tailfins)

Depends on whether you are going for the glamor girl (Marilyn Monroe) or ingenue (Audrey Hepburn) look. Check out google images so you can get a feel for their looks.

think marilyn monroe.

pale skin.
red lips.
light blush.
dark/defined brows
mascara.
eyeshadow in the crease maybe.
and everything is matte, not shiny.

search for pictures of marilyn monroe or pictures of people from Grease for more ideas.
