Somehow, some way, i would wreak vengeance on them.
And i am a very creative - and devious - person when it comes to vengeance.
(This scenario did happen to me. And part of my retaliation has already been realized. But the best is yet to come.)

Open a 64 ounce can of whoop a** on them and let them know if they spread rumors about you again, the size of the can will just get larger! That's not right. If you can prove it, you can also take them to court. It's called slander and it's against the law if you can prove the person said those things and kept you from getting the job.

Confront that person and ask them if this is true, and if so, why did they say it about you? It seems very unfair to me that this would prevent you from getting a job.

if you're grown-up confront them and beat their f'n ***. if you are a sweet innocent child (does this satiate the offended folks out there?) have your parent(s) or an older relative handle it .
