i have this friend and she has a hamster and i have one to but they are different types of hamsters can they still have babys one hamster i a longed haired hamster and mines is a short haired hamster

As long as one is a male and one is a female you should be ok. You will need to remove the male from the cage as soon as the babies are born because he will try to kill them. You will end up with a nice mix of hamsters.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!
Please take my answer into consideration. Hamsters are only to be bread if:
They are NOT from a pet store, they have to be from a perfessional BREEDER both of them. Some hamsters don't have heathy backrounds and you could end up with a batch of dead babies.
The mother MUST be 2-4 moths old or she will die.
YOU must read a LOT about hamsters before you do so.
If you were mature and wise enough to breed then you woulden't have to ask. You would have been working your butt of searching the net on info.
BTW longhaied and short haired can be bread together but DON'T try it!
You know how many animals are getting killed each day becuase of careless breeders becuase they think it will be 'fun'?
I have breed before so please for the poor animals please please please don't breed them.
I am sooooo sorry if I sounded mean I was just protecting the animals' life.
