What country are you from? If you're American, do a Mexican film like Amores Perros, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Como Agua Para Chocolate, El Mariachi or El Crimen del Padre Amaro. If you're not American, then do an American film like The Seventh Seal, Frida, Jackie Brown, Boys Don't Cry or Copland

Try any film from Oscar Winner Director Pedro Almodovar.
Habla con Ella (Talk to her) is my favorite.
All of his movies talk about women.
And is Spanish, which most English spoken people know.

To norag --> FYI :Three Men and a baby was originally a French movie later "covered" in the US and that stars Tom Selleck.
The version is the American movie.
I don't mean to be rude but credit is due to the French.

First, it's spelled "independent." You don't want to get docked for spelling on your report title.

I like Chinese movies myself. You could try "Farewell My Concubine" or "Eat Drink Man Woman" or "Raise the Red Lantern." They have subtitles so you can understand what they're saying.

"Eat Drink Man Woman" is set in modern day Taiwan, and it's about a widowed father who is a chef and his three daughters. It's funny and a little sad.

"Farewell My Concubine" is set in the early 20th century China. It's about a boy who is taught traditional Chinese opera and is forced to be feminine in all aspects of his life because he sings female roles. It's sad.

"Raise the Red Lantern" is also set in China, I think in the 19th century, when noblemen still had more than one wife. It's a story of how all the wives get along (or don't). It's a little sad, but very interesting.

Then there's Japanese and French and Swedish movies, but I don't know anything about them.

Amelie is a very popular french film... I assume you're American, here... you can pick it up at your local blockbuster, and I'm sure Netflix has it as well.
