A five year age difference is ok when you're talking 20 and 25 or older, but 12 year olds are still kids, barely even into puberty. They're certainly not ready for a sexual relationship or even a sex free, heavy duty romantic relationship with someone who is probably ready to move on to the next level.

NO, 12 is too young to date a person that old. I mean when I was 17 I was dating somebody 3 years older, but we were then at the same maturity level. At 12, you probably havent' even hit puberty. At 12 (which I"m assuming is the girl) you should only have your daddy as you man right now. ( not in a gross way either...just a fatherly love way...had to clarify it with the minds working the way they do these days) Jeez...

No that's not OK! A 5 year age difference isn't a big deal once you're, oh I don't know, at least out of high school. 17 and 12 is a huge huge age difference, at 12 years old you shouldn't even be considering being with a 17 year old. Oh, and not to mention it's illegal in most states.

I dont think its ok. The twelve tear old is too young. If the five years took place later it would be different. like a 17 and a 22, 24 and 29 etc.

There is a HUGE difference between a 17 year old a 12 year old.
Absolutely nothing good can come of it.
21 and 26 years old is totally different- both are adults, hopefully with some maturity.
A 12 year old wants to be with a 17 year old to feel mature and self important and show off.
I don't WANT to know why a 17 year old would want to be with a 12 year old- but there is no good reason.
The words statutory rape come to mind.

Just the fact that you had to ask should help you to know that you already had the answer. At the age of 12, most people are not mature enough for the kind of relationship that a 17 year old is seeking. Please stay friends only...and find someone who is within a year of your age.

NO it's not ok, I mean that's a huge difference at that age. Once you get into your 20s and up then that gap seems to become closer mainly due to experience. But those two ages are totally different bc the levels, the experience, the knowledge, exposure to situations are all just different.

Well, its okay until the one of you turns 18. Then you'll have to wait another five years until you can let it sizzle up again. Rent the Movie Harold and Maude. I think you two should watch it on a date, you'll like it.

47 and 42 is stilll a big deal. 17 and 12...never ever ever...that's sick...if you're the 17, you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking about it. Probably your birth sister too, if you're thinking that way.
