Eat right for energy, sleep to get energy, excercise for energy because your going to need it when it comes time for that final push.... you don't want to get that extra help like a suction cup bruising the baby's head do you?

All things said on here but at the end of the day baby's going to come out when it's good & ready & not before (with the exception of medical intervention). Just try & take your mind off it, go to the cinema watch a funny film, invite your buds round for a girly night, have someone pamper you rotten! All sounds good to me. You'll forget how fed up you were once it's all over & you're holding a wriggly little pink baby :o)

My mother was overdue with two out of three of her pregnancies. She told me of how my father took her out in the family car for a "bumpy" ride and then she came home and cleaned around the house and went into labor that evening. If that does not work and the other suggestions don't either...just be patient and know that the baby may need just a little more time. It's important for you to relax and try to focus on having a successful and healthy delivery. Try a nice hot bath....have the father rub your feet for you...and enjoy some quiet time before the baby is here and you have all of the excitement of visitations and night time feedings. Good luck!

I've heard sex, curry, lots of walking, warm baths and raspberry leaf tea can all get things moving.

I've also heard that they don't always work!

You can also ask your midwife for a membrane sweep which can start labour off sometimes.

I haven't tried anything yet because my baby is not due till December 8th. But I will most definitely be tucking into hot curries having lots of sex and walking for miles come the first week in December!!!!

What a lot of rubbish - the baby will come when it is ready to - NOTHING makes it happen sooner. I had elective induction on my due date - 4 days of prostin gel - foley's catheters and millions of internals - labour pains and cervix opened 1/2 a cm !! 15 days later my wee boy was born - with a minor heart defect. Had he come on his due date it would have been a major defect.

Leave it alone - enjoy the sex and the curry - but it won't hurry things along.

well, best advice is to wait till your baby is ready - but.............a hot curry is supposed to help. Anything natural and mildly diuretic also helps a bit. There are specific accupressure points just above your wrists and ankles which are supposed to help but the absolute best is semen - you have to have sex and he has to *** inside you. There is something in the semen that acts in a similar way to the drugs they give you to start labour. It also gently works at the plug which, when it comes away, is one of the early signs of labour.

But...........thursday is only 2 days away and you baby may be very happy for now. I know its tough but try to enjoy your last few days before your world is turned upside down!!!!!!

You cant do Mother Natures work. That baby will come when its ready. Unless your having medical problems just relax and enjoy your last minutes alone. Soon you'll have a child for about 20 years!!

Rub the skin between your thumb and pointer finger hard in a circular motion. It is a trigger point. (that also helps with headaches) There is also a trigger point in your shoulder blade area. Have someone massage it back and forth hard. I have heard that sex, walking, and squats help. Good luck and Congrats!

Raspberry leaf extract (tea, tablets). Curry, sex (its the oxytocin apparently), book yourself something nice to do on Thursday - it's guarenteed to turn up when you're about to do something nice!!! Good luck. Just put your feet up - no rest once the baby's here.
