Some guinea pigs are more vocal than others, but most of them will make noise. When I first brought my baby guinea pig home from the hospital, he was very quiet for a few months. But after I held him a lot and he learned the sound of the bag of carrots crinkling, he started squeeking and he even purrs sometimes now. Talking to it might help, too. They learn sounds through socialization.

Hmmm.... im not sure becasue my guinea pig makes alot of noise when I take him out of the cage.... I guesss he too little. How long have u had the guinea pig? I had mine for a moth or 2 util it was squeling. SO it will tak e alittl while if its new. And if it has been in ur house for like 5 moths or sometihng take to the vet. Maybe has a sore throat or sometihng

Maybe he's not used to you or his surroundings yet. Guinea pigs do better in pairs. They will be happier and make lots of noise.

I have three piggies, one never makes a peep (he's the dominant male), one squeals all the time (especially when the food comes out) and one occasionally makes some noise. Just like people - everyone is different! Mine made themselves a website though, if you're interested: =)

No forks!! LOL when you piggy gets used to hearing the same noise that will relate to food or something he likes over and over again that he thinks is in his best instrest, according to his thinking, he'll weet weet weet more than you'll want.
