Is John McCain just trying to shift some blame onto the democrats as the republicans are pretty much circling the bowl right now? Is he trying to rile up the republican base in an effort to counter the negative effects of Woodwards book, Foley, Iraq, etc? Is he just blindly throwing haymakers hoping to land a fluke knockout punch?

I'm pretty sure that if Clinton had sold nuclear secrets to North Korea he would have been tried (and rightfully so) as a traitor.

You may want to check your facts on that one.

Wow, Joe...what a great answer. Did you type that one yourself or did you have to get someone to help. North Korea had nukes 20 years ago. Blame that on Clinton, too, you moron. I have yet to see anyone point out any inaccuracy (that's a big word for "lie") in Woodward's book. As for Foley, yeah, he's history. But the republicans are so damned corrupt that he's viewed as the scandal du jour for the neocon scumbags. Duke Cunningham, Tom Delay, lies like "we will rebuild New Orleans", the fact that Bush et al have allowed Ground Zero to remain a whole in the ground, the fact that Bush fought tooth and nail against the 9/11 commission and then only agreed to testify if you could hold Cheney's cold, ghoulish hand while doing so. The republicans lied about the war, they lie about unemployment, they lie about the values the hold - they are inacapable of telling the truth. I wish it wasn't so, but the US is being led by at best a half-wit and at worst a war criminal.

There getting more desperate by the minute. They can't point at the republican congress which has been there for more than 12 years or the supreme court which is made up of mostly conservatives or the two presidents before clinton because they were republicans so the only port in the strom is clinton who left office 6 years ago.

John McCain might be privvy to an upcoming "October Surprise" that will probably relate to nukes and N.Korea.
I answered a question about an October Surprise just a short time ago.
What better scenario to fearmonger an election than a nuclear attack of some kind by N.Korea, and blame it on Clinton and the Democrats, the old "liberal whipping dog" thing.
You know what I mean.
John McCain is considered more mainstream and will probably enjoy support of the GOP in a couple more years, with their moving away from the extreme right wing.
The problems with deficit spending and our involvement in religious warfare seem to be distancing the main body of the GOP from the neo-conservative movement sponsored by Bush/Cheney, and their pals in the Project for a New American Century, their "think" tank.

the simple fact is... N. Korea had a nuclear processing plant that was built in 1986...and by 1994, they were expected to have enough plutonium for 10 nuclear weapons... how can this all be Clinton's fault when they had the weapons in 1994?

Even in an interview on the Daily Show with John Stewart, former Secretary of State James Baker let it slip that North Korea “...had a rudimentary nuclear weapon way back in the days when I was secretary of state, but now this is a more advanced one evidently.” He was Secretary of State between 1989 and 1992.

so they had them before Clinton was EVEN PRESIDENT according to James Baker... was he lying?

why? because slick willie(aka BillClinton) started this whole thing by trying to be diplimatic with this crazy tyrant in N Korea! Slick willie and then sent Jimmy carter over there to make peace with this crazy man, and signed an agreement back in 1994! WHO WAS IN OFFICE in 1994? Of course the tyrant crazy leader tossed the agreement(IN which we gave THEM the materials and NO how to build 2 Nuclear reactors!(supposedly for electricity! to help his people) yea right..... now he used that to build a nuclear bomb and THE democrats are trying to make it seem like its BUSH's fault! OK keep this in mind(LOOK at my many other derogatory comments here in the past calling BUSH a monkey! I am NOT a republican!) I am simply pissed off at the total fingure pointing by slick willie and his friends towards others when they in fact caused this! No matter I still hate BUSH but slick willie I also hate!

Why would anyone listen to John McCain anyway? He showed his true colors when he could have had the upper hand for the Republican nomination for President, but he instead chose to take the cowards way and let Bush dictate to him where to go. He is not a leader and he will never be. He could be talking about Disney World for all I care about his comments.

Clinton gave them the nuclear technology dummy. Him and Albright.

Foley means nothing in the election he's GONE.
Iraq is going as smoothly as Germany and Japan did after WWII
Woodwards book is being discredited every day by the people he supposedly interviewed.
