A friend told me that if you gave up your first pick in the pros that you would end your career in the minors, he aid this happens to 80% of people so when you get chose you need to go to the pros, is this true?

A friend told me that 80% people who get picked out of high school to play mlb and who chose to go to college rather dont make it to the mlb the second time they get drafted, is this true>

Keep in mind that most players who do sign don't end up in the majors - each team drafts around 50 players per year (including both high school and college) and actually signs 25-30 of them. Of those, maybe 6 or 7 will make the majors at all, and only 2 or 3 of those will manage to stick in the majors. So the failure rate is probably at least 80% no matter when you sign.

I don't know the exact %'s, but a lot of first rounders never make it to the MLB, especially with the team that drafted them.

I'm not following your question either. Do you mean those who enter the draft, get drafted, but then don't sign with the team that drafted them? Is this to what you are referring?

not sure about the % but I am sure that a lot of first rounders get tired after playing baseball fo ther intire life
