I would sell either the car (depending on whether the city you're travelling to has good public transit) or the furniture. Or, take a U-haul out and have the car shipped or towed behind.

UHaul or Ryder...rent a small cube truck for the furniture and a trailer to tow your car behind you.

i agree with ridgley ... sell off what you can replace at the end of your venture. this gives you more travelling money and less to worry about when you wanna take that side road for a better scenic route. hope it all goes well with your trip.

go to budget.com get the 16 foot truck with the car carrier. then call the dealer where you are going to pick it up and see wheather the internet or person is cheaper.

Get a book of matches and burn every thing you own. When it all goes up in smoke move to the other coast and collect your ins cash and buy all new stuff for your new house.

sell all of your stuff except your personals and get new stuff at your new location.I did this four times in the service and it worked out good for me.
