Go to a doctor...NOW...you could be (probaby are already) dangerously anemic!

As for treatment, some docs will put you on the pill, which will probably work, but the risks can be severe, even today. Also, the pill (and any hormonal method) basically stops your ovaries from developing as they should (it could take many years, into your early 20's)...so you'll be right back where you started when you go OFF the pill.

There are other drugs, such as those meant to stop hemhorraging, which I advise you ask about. (See links below).
Beware of anything which only contains progesterone, as the risks and side effects are usually more severe.

Although heavy menstrual bleeding may just be a sign of hormonal imbalance, it does NOT lessen the threat that any excess bleeding would have, and it does NOT mean the bleeding isn't caused by something more serious, such as endometriosis.

In the meantime, I advised girls who come to me w/this problem (while I was teaching health), to stay in bed and use a cold pack over the uterine area, for 20 mins., with a ten minute break.

This is NOT meant as a cure or explanation, but usually will stem excessive bleeding, as in any injury.

Get thee to a doctor, quickly!

I actually had a problem like that about 4 years ago. I waited and did not go to the Dr. right away because I did not have insurance. I also had major bruising all over my body. Please seek medical attention soon. I was put in the hospital the day after I finally went to the Dr. My platelet level was at 1000, where it should have been at least in the 130,000+ range. I received a transfusion immediately, and the Dr thought I may have had luekemia. I was finally diagnosed with ITP. I have had low platelets through two pregnancies and a miscarriage, but such is life for me now. Good luck!

You may have Endometriosys. Make an appointment to see a Doctor and tell them you've been bleeding abnormally for weeks. You need a pelvic exam, blood work and a Pap smear ASAP. GOOOOO!! In the meantime, make sure you are taking an Iron supplement vitamin twice a day. You're tired from losing all that blood which depletes your iron levels. Eat some steak and spinach too, that will help raise your energy. Good luck.

You need to get in to your doctor, immediately. First off, from the blood loss you could be becoming anemic which may be a reason for the tiredness. Next, the heavy nonstop flow could be a sign of something more severe, like fibroid tumors in your uterus, which incidentially are usually benign or non cancerous. I wish you luck because, I myself, have experienced this. Again , you need to see a doctor who can properly diagnosis you.

Hello... Miserable, ):

Are you serious. You should know more about what it going on with your body at all times. Please educate yourself on how to take care of yourself. Acquire more knowledge by talking to your doctor for sure. Go to the library, look up info in your computer. Do what ever it takes to get more information about how to take care of yourself. Ask your doctor about taking birth control pills.
That should help you to stay on track. It does for most woman.
I know of a great many ladies that do that just for that reason alone. Start by getting a real good check up from your doctor fast. Please help your self. Have a nice day.
Love yourself and love God..
Sincerely, J. (:
