You just have to use guess and check. I'm not telling you the answer, because it's your homework, so you have to figure it out. But here's an example:

Students: 12
Parents: 7
Teachers: 3

That would only add up to 22, so you know you have to increase the number of students, because that increases everything else. Have fun figuring it out!

Let's call: The number of parents in the party, x.
The number of teachers in the party, y.
The number of students in the party, z.

One group of 28 fans had a celebration party after the game then:
x + y + z = 28 ---> Equation 1

The number of parents in the group was 4 greater than the number of teachers, then:

y + 4 = x ---> Equation 2

and 5 fewer than the number of students, then:

x + 5 = z---> Equation 3

From equation 2:

y +4 =x
then y = x -4

From equation 3:
x+5 = z

Substitute in equation 1:

x + y + z = 28
x + (x - 4) + (x +5) = 28

x + x -4 + x + 5 = 28
3x = 27
x = 9

y = x -4 = 9 -4 = 5
z = x +5 = 9+5 = 14

We had 9 parents, 5 teachers, and 14 students in the group.
