Afghanistan is not the US's war. Read a book. Your country signed the NATO agreement, if you want to back out go ahead. We'll pull our bases from your country and ruin the local economy. There are plenty of countries that will accept our bases and the millions of dollars it means both in rental and stimulation to the local economy.

Why do you think France and Germany cry the blues when the US says we need to shut down a US base, or relocate a NATO base. Its the MONEY stupid.

Do us a favor. Petition your government to back out of NATO. Let people who want our money get the bases. You don't need NATO, you have the EU to protect you.

The Iraq and Afghanistan wars may have been justified but they didn't have to be carried out in such an incompetent manner.

All wars in the Middle East are partly 'hearts and minds' endeavours. Bush should have presented the war as a global attempt to remove a tyrant rather than an American led conquest.
His rhetoric before the war seemed actively designed to antagonise the whole world, including his allies.

As it is, the war has created more terrorists and sucked militant Muslims into Iraq

Say Limey, it appears you don't know diddly squat about the UN Charter. The troops that are presently in Afghanistan, are there as NATO troops, including many of the American troops. They are commanded by a British officer.

The UN charter requires member countries to support and maintain a military presence in member country's under siege. In this case, the Taliban is considered an enemy force and they are attacking the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

The US hasn't asked for your help as a NATO member, President Karzai has done that. Therefore, I ask you to get your head out of your @ss, and apologize to the American people for your stupid comments about something you know absolutely nothing about.

Canada has lost as many in Afghanistan as the UK & percentage wise , US population is roughly 10 times that of Canada, we have lost more than the US in Afghanistan.
