Pink Floyd is by far the best band!!! People these days have no musical sense, you are very right! I just cringe to think that people actually believe that these new bands that are coming out are the best bands ever! It's disturbing!

Before you go calling anyone poseurs, respect their musical senses. They may not be as refined and well tuned as ours, but anything with a time signature is music. Some people like rap, some people like modern rock, some people like pop, and some people... some people like classic rock. It's all in their raisings.

Now yes, Pink Floyd is a great band. Greater than great. They are gods in the musical world. Echoes, Atom Heart Mother, Wot's Uh... The Deal........ See Emily Play, Astronomy Domine, Arnold Layne........ Keep Talking, High Hopes, Sorrow....... good music.

One more thing... most people that go around calling other people poseurs have no evidence to back it up. Just shouting "POSEUR" is not a good insult. Just saying they have no musical sense is no insult. They have as much musical sense as any of us do. We don't respect theirs, and they don't respect ours.

A person who says that they love Pink Floyd is just a person.
A person who says that they love Pink Floyd but know only a handful of songs is a poseur.
A person who says that they love... no, ADORE Pink Floyd and can rattle off a quick, concise (20 minute) history of them... that is a hardcore fan, my friend! On the other hand, it could be me.

Are you sure you aren't the poser? Many young "fans" are only fans of The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon. There are three main eras, each led by a different band member. Can you name the band members and the order? An album from each era? Can you name all of the members of the band, their instruments, and a small tidbit about them? Could you say why they left, or why they joined later? Could you name the song, one of the most well known but least named, that precedes Another Brick in the Wall II when it plays on the radio? Can you really say why you're on David or Roger's side, or why you remain neutral? Can you name a movie that syncs with an album? (That's common knowledge, my dear.) Can you tell me a unique place where they recorded some of their later songs and who it belonged to?

I could, and more. Don't call me a poseur.

Also, yes, poseur. Poser is a person that poses in different... poses. A poseur is one who acts like who one is not.

Pink Floyd will always be listened to. Dark Side of the Moon was a best selling album on BillBoard forever. They are discovered and re-discovered by every generation. Their music is deep and can really speak to you as a teenager.

I could not agree with you more. Their music is timeless it does not matter if you are 60 or 12 the music rocks! For those of you who only know Dark Side of the Moon, check out all Floyd's early stuff. Great music!!

Pink Floyd is the best, I have yet to understand why anyone would disagree! Their music is timeless and will live forever!
what's my favorite song? ALL of them, I sure wouldn't be able to pick one above the other.
I see Pink Floyd's music in colors and have painted several paintings that were inspired my their music, to include a tribute to Syd Barrett

R.I.P., Syd : Shine On!

To any too youthful the album "The Wall" became a solid place to start up in case you have in no way listened to pink Floyd.. pay attention to the words of "yet another Brick interior the Wall" the angst of dropping his father who became interior the militia is his soreness for all to take heed to.
