When Americans and only people from the US are refered to by the rest of the world as Americans start to think for themselves and not as some collective. This is one of the few times when the sum of the parts can be less than any one of the parts

I think a lot of Americans are intelligent, but just because some of them are it doesn't mean they can act stupid. It's our God given right to behave stupidly if we choose to. I also think that society looks down on people with intelligence; like your friends at school and the entertainment industry (I mean reality TV...that's just the lowest common denominator). Maybe we should focus on changing the perception of smart people (away from the Nerds) and making it socially acceptable to be smart.

Intellegence is an abliltiy to understand.Some people think the more you bash and curse those they disagree with, the smarter(they are).People need to show their "smarts" by learning about something before they make an "intelligent" remark.
