ABS light on means that your Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is not working properly. You can still use the brakes just fine, you just dont have the additional protection of anti-lock. This is not an emergency but you should have it looked at soon.
TRAC OFF means your vehicles automatic traction control system is not working, Again, you can still drive fine, you just dont have the additional protection of traction control during extreme manuevers. This is not an emergency, have it looked at when convienant.
I bet that the problem lies in a wheel speed sensor. These sensors are located on each wheel and determine how fast it is rotating. Your vehicle's computer compares all the wheel speeds to see if they are always equal. If the wheel speeds are not right, the vehicle will engage the ABS system or the traction control as neccesary.
In a nutshell, these two systems help the driver maintain control of the vehicle more easily during emergency stops or emergency manuevers. You can still drive with both systems disabled, but you will not have their help if you get into trouble and may make you less able to avoid an accident.
Check the wheel speed sensors, I bet one or more have gone bad, a shop should be able to replace one for $150 or less, if you are mechanically inclined you can do it y0urself for the price of the sensor ($15-$50 depending on car make and model)

RE:
My ABS light and TRAC OFF lights began lighting up yesterday. What's wrong and what's the cost?
The lights come on after driving about five miles. I read this could be the sensor. I have low squealing sound coming from my right front tire. Could this be where the problem is? How much will this repair cost me?

I had the same problem. Bought a 2002 Neon and got it like that. Noticed a loose hanging connection next to the right front wheel. On closer inspection, I found the sensor bracket broken off. I cleaned all grit and greasiness off bracket and sensor body and glued it together with epoxy. That fixed my problem. Been 2 weeks now and all still fine.

let me guess, you have a grand am. this is a easy fix. i dont know why this happens once in a while, but it does. all you have to do is turn off the car, let the pcm reset by doing so, and turn it back on. lights are all off, and you have traction control and abs again. its that simple. also your squealing sound is when you hit the brakes, all you need is new brakes. if its all the time, chances are its a wheel bearing.
good luck.

trac light comes on any time there is a problem with ABS system .It uses wheel speed to calculate a wheel sliding or spinning. It really needs to be scanned to diagnois the code stored in ABS.

Your right it is a sensor but as weird as it sounds they are usually located behind your REAR driverside tire. If it comes on after driving it is just probably lose. My local garage plugged mine back in for free it took 2 seconds.
