Give me your card number and I'll show you how...
...but seriously, how about getting in touch with your bank and 'upgrading' your card - or better still, join a bank which automatically gives you a 'visa' card upon joining. Maestro, Switch and the other one - Solo, I think are very restrictive.

A debit card must have a visa or master card logo. If not you might have an ATM card. You can use those at any ATM machines that show the Maestro logo or Cirrus logo. A debit card is accepted where ever a credit card is accepted. As far as I know you have to be 18 to get a debit card. I heard no such laws on ATM cards.

If it's a UK Maestro card then it's the same as Switch, if it's an International Maestro card then it's still a similar process but might not go through as Switch.

You usually need card number, card holder name, issue date or issue number, and the security code off the back.

I would not advise to use credit or debit cards online. I strongly recommend PayPal which is safer. http://lost-newbie.blogspot.com
