I was living in hotels for about 2 weeks when I first arrived in London. I was funded by Australian dollars so everything was expensive because of the poor exchange rate. I therefore opted to keep the cost down as much as possible. I used discount website www.wotif.com to book hotels which cost around £35 per night for some of the more basic hotels in Central London, in the Kensington/Paddington areas. Full prices of hotels were significantly more.
